WELCOME TO THE DISPATCH
Hey there, UNDERGROUND! This is the first Weekly Dispatch, and I’m literally writing this right after finally finishing V.1 / Version One of the website. It feels pretty damn cool to be sitting here looking at the finished version after everything that’s happened with the site over the last few months. THE UNDERGROUND started as a really simple idea. A couple months ago, I was sitting in my room thinking about how much I love movies, music, games, CDs, DVDs, VHS tapes, old websites, and pretty much anything from the 2000s. I’ve always loved the look and feel of that era, and I wanted to build something of my own that captured some of that feeling. I didn’t really want it to just be another page on somebody else’s platform. I wanted something that was actually mine. So I built it. What started as a simple idea somehow turned into what you’re looking at now. V.1 ended up being a lot more than I originally imagined. There’s the main site, Chat, Underground Radio, and now the Weekly Dispatch. This is basically the foundation for everything I want to build from here. One thing I really want to see happen with THE UNDERGROUND is for it to become a community. Not some huge, polished social media platform, but just a place where people who are into the same kind of stuff can find each other. I want someone to stumble across this site and think, “Holy shit, these are my people.” If I can make a place where people feel comfortable being themselves, sharing what they love, and just hanging out, then I think that would be pretty damn cool. I’ve already got some ideas brewing for V.2, so stay tuned. Anyway, I wanted to keep this first one pretty short. There’s plenty more to come. Later, UNDERGROUND. NB out.
